“Poverty Does Not Have To Be” and “Early Childhood Education Changes Lives” and “Communicating and Relating More Effectively Across Poverty Barriers”
Dr. Donna M. Beegle, a mom of two Head Start children, will share the life-changing actions that allowed her to move from generational, migrant-labor poverty to achieving a doctorate and running a successful company for 26 years. Dr. Beegle will illuminate key best practices that Early Childhood Professionals can use for making life-changing differences for families in poverty, along with the impact that high quality early childhood programs have made for her children and for millions of children across the nation in the past 50 years.
“Executive Function in the Early Years”
Kimberly O’Connell, Pre-K Program Manager for Providence Public Schools, is an experienced intervention specialist in the early childhood education industry. Ms. O’Connell will present executive functioning skills in the early years and how these lifelong skills develop, what can disrupt development and how supporting these skills will pay off in school and life.
